Daily Livestream of Liturgy of the Hours Starting 1 April 2019

I have been giving this a lot of thought over the past few months, and I’ve finally decided to go ahead and move forward with this project. I was originally going to hold off until I felt prepared to offer the ’62 Divine Office; however, I’ve noticed quite a few people on social media struggling to take up private Liturgical prayer. I have therefore decided, in an effort to help more people benefit from this wonderful “school of prayer” as Father calls it, to daily live stream the ‘cornerstone’ prayers of the Liturgy of the Hours – Morning Prayer and Evening Prayer.

Disclaimer: I am just a layperson. Therefore, I may make mistakes or otherwise incorrectly perform the Office from time to time. However, I will do my best to ensure this is kept to a minimum. Please do not consider what I do to be ‘the way’ of doing it. While I do my best to adhere to the General Instruction if a Priest or other Religious has taught you to recite the Office in a way different than how I do it please follow their instructions instead of mine.

Our Lord does not look so much at the greatness of our actions, or even at their difficulty, as at the love with which we do them

St. Thérèse de Lisieux

While it is certainly more beneficial to offer these prayers in community with others physically present with you not everyone is blessed with an opportunity to do so. That is why I’ve decided to take up this project in hopes that we can form a digital ‘spiritual’ community. I will begin the daily live streams on April 1st, 2019 and the prayers will be offered at the following times:

  • Morning Prayer: 6:00 am eastern standard time
  • Evening Prayer: 6:00 pm eastern standard time

For the moment I will not be offering the Office of Readings or the other hours over the live stream due to data limit restrictions on the platform where the videos will be maintained after the live stream as I will do my best to ensure those who are unable to join us in prayer live will be able to do so at a time more convenient for themselves via an ‘on demand’ type situation; however, if there is enough interest in these other hours I will be sure to add them as soon as possible. These will, of course, be offered entirely free of charge hence the limitations on data as I can only devote so much financial support to this project at this time.

Please consider joining me in these prayers, and if you have any personal intentions for each day – or otherwise – please be sure to send them in via the Prayer Request page so that those who are also joining in this prayer can join in praying for you.
